Cantina Band Time!
I started playing the clarinet in 5th grade and it has become my primary instrument. The work "Peter and the Wolf", composed by Sergei Prokofiev, inspired me to choose the instrument. It tells the story of a boy and his animal friends as they deal with a prowling wolf. Each character is represented by a different instrument section of the orchestra, with the clarinet representing the cat.

The summer of my freshmen year in high school my jazz band teacher encouraged me to try the saxophone. I was hesitant at first but I came to like the projection and zesty flare it has. The fingerings and mouthpiece are very similar but there are key differences that make it a bit of a challenge to switch back and forth between it and the clarinet.
